原告设立了专门的在线表格，客户通过在线填写表格与原告订立合同。表格内容包括颜色、材料和面积。用户可以自主选择。此三项内容在表格中有不同的表现形式，点击“△"可选择颜色，点击“□"可选择面积，点击“○"可选则材料；而且，页面上的符号不仅有别于形状，也有别于颜色。LDT

简而言之，作品的创作就体现在它的设计，而不是针对其中的数据和信息。

There is magic in the way. 

This is a 2000 case about “magic”.

The plaintiff and the defendant are .com companies offering the same service online: remodeling and interior decorating.

The plaintiff designed some online forms that potential customers could fill out in order to contract the plaintiff’s services.

On the form, a customer is asked to indicate his choice of color（represented by the triangle “∆”）and material (represented by a circle “○”) as well as the measurements of the area (represented by a square“□”) on which they want work done. LDT

Each symbol on the page was distinctive not only by its shape but also by its color.

Magic.

In short, the originality of this online form lies in its design, not in the data and information on it.

Using this new commercial model, the plaintiff’s website quickly became popular.

A month later, the plaintiff found almost the same online form on the defendant’s website.

The plaintiff sued the defendant for copyright infringement.

Mediated by the court, the plaintiff and the defendant reached an agreement.
